Requirements such as 20 mm and 30 mm finished slabs must be matched to the appropriate wire spacing and machine configuration. Tell us whether your stated thickness refers to the sawn slab or the finished polished slab. The cutting plan must allow for the kerf and any material removed during subsequent calibration and polishing.
This depends on the wheel-groove layout and wire arrangement of the selected machine. Mixed-thickness production should be evaluated before the configuration is finalized. Send the thickness combination and quantity required for each thickness. Changes to an existing arrangement should follow Stonewin technical guidance and the machine manual.
The space occupied across a block includes slab material and the kerf removed by the wires. Finished slabs may also require material removal during calibration and polishing. The cutting plan should account for these stages instead of treating the ordered finished thickness as the only dimension.
List every required finished thickness, the quantity or proportion needed, the stone type and the block dimensions. If several thicknesses must come from the same block, state that explicitly. Ask Stonewin to confirm the matching groove layout and wire arrangement for the selected model. Follow the approved configuration and manual when making changes.
